As a lifelong guitar player, I pride myself in creating a neck that I believe other players will love.
My all time favorite neck is made from Honduran Mahogany and finished with oil.
So that’s exactly how I build mine.
Neck & Fingerboard Specs
-
Neck and fingerboard specs are virtually the most customizable part of the whole guitar. Some folks know exactly what they want out of a neck, some have no clue, and some people want to go with my preference of specs; I’m happy to accommodate all.
For those who know exactly what you like and want to get extra nerdy, I would love to know your desired and custom specs.
If you would like to use the specs of my personal preferences, the standard specs are for you.
For those who would like to get nerdy but don’t know how, I am here to assist you!

Material Selection
-
I’ve hand selected my stash of 400+ neck blanks that are all perfectly quartersawn, straight grain, and a nice lovely golden color that will only grow darker with time.
All necks are reinforced with carbon fiber rods, and an exclusive MWG Hott Pink FlexStrong Truss Rod.
Necks are made in batches of 10-15 and are clamped flat and stabilized for two years prior to being used.
Individual material selection is not available for necks.

I’m often asked whether or not I enjoy binding my pegheads & fingerboards, since most of my instruments don’t include this detail..
One side of my coin says I LOVE GLUING THINGS TOGETHER so I’m pretty much always down for the act of all things binding. I also love the way it looks.
The other side of the coin says I’m a less is more kind of girl who feels that every single piece of Ebony I have is so perfect, pretty trims aren’t necessary.
Back to the other side of the coin, whenever I do this extra detail I always think, “Geez, that was fun and this is beautiful; why don’t I do this more often?”
Conclusion: If left to my own, I will usually leave this detail out. But always happy to do it when it’s requested!
Afterthought: Perhaps the correct terminology here should be “contrasting binding”? Because I always bind my fingerboards - but they are done so with grain matching ebony, so it’s invisible to the eye.
See? Less is more.
Side Dots & Inlay
-
Standard Side Dots
3/32 Aluminum Rings
Located at edge of fingerboard only
Fret #’s 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 15, 17, 19, 21
Unless otherwise noted, there will be no position markers on the playing surface of the fingerboard - my personal preference. For those with an opposing preference, I offer simple silver circles (rings or solid) to compliment the side dots nicely - at no extra cost.

A very popular choice is the Silver MW Logo at the 12th fret marker. A wonderful opportunity to include a bit of magic from the Inlay Maestro himself, Larry Robinson
$200 UpchargeI’ve had a few requests lately for custom dots in custom spots (10th fret instead of 9th, 2 dots at the 7th fret, etc) - happy to do it! Just let me know - no extra cost!
Custom Inlay: I do prefer my guitars to have fingerboards that are absent of inlay; I cherish the beauty of my ebony far too much to cover it up. At this time, I’m not offering any option for custom inlays.
